1. Meryl Streep
During the filming of August, Julia was not happy with the ending of the film (to Meryl's greater glory) and she made a plan with the director.
The ploy, which we could title "now that the old woman isn't looking" was to film an epilogue centered on her sad face. When Meryl found out she threatened not to participate in the promotion of the film and the finale-Julia was eliminated, but in the end Roberts cajoled the producer and got his way. Now we viewers can judge which side we are on and the truth is that the ending-Julia looks like a cologne advertisement.
2. Catherine Zeta-Jones
In Ocean's Eleven Julia confessed that she felt like a princess surrounded by the biggest heartthrobs in Hollywood. They placed the chair for her, worried about her mood, and laughed at all her thanks. For the sequel, the signing of Catherine did not sit well with a pregnant Julia Roberts: the two had not spoken during the filming of The Couple of the Year a couple of years before. Julia demanded more expensive clothes than Catherine's and asked for another mansion when she discovered that Catherine's was larger.
3. Hugh Grant
Julia and Hugh didn't understand each other in Notting Hill so they cordially agreed not to talk to each other behind the cameras, a constant in Roberts' career: we would have ended up sooner writing about the people we do talk to. Years later Hugh claimed that Julia has "a huge mouth" and that when she kissed her he could hear the echo of her breathing. According to him, Renee Zellweger is a much better kisser. Julia, for her part, publicly forgave Hugh, recognizing that her mouth is indeed huge.
4. Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer never forgave Julia for abandoning Matthew Perry (her friend and her co-star on her Friends) for her personal trainer. "I already told you it wasn't fair wheat," she told Matthew, displaying much more intuition for others than for herself. When Julia was asked about it, she responded that she doesn't want to work with Aniston "because she's too pretty." During the filming of Mother's Day the crew was instructed to ensure that Jen and Julia met as little as possible on set.
5. Nicole Kidman
The workers at Secrets of an Obsession were fed up with the despotism with which Nicole treated them, but no one dared to reproach her. Nobody except Julia, obviously. During a stressful day for everyone, Roberts accused Kidman of being rude and treating everyone as if they were her servants. "At least I know the name of each worker," she added, in a scene that is easy to imagine like this.
