Uma Thurman claimed that acclaimed film director Quentin Tarantino tried to kill her while filming one of the 'Kill Bill' scenes in Mexico
After it became known that Uma Thurman was also one of the women s----lly assaulted by film producer Harvey Weinstein, the star of films like Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill revealed that film director Quentin Tarantino forced her to film a scene in which he almost lost his life.
The American actress claimed this Saturday in an article published by The New York Times that Tarantino forced her to drive a vehicle in poor condition while they were filming the film 'Kill Bill: Volume 1'.
The filming of this scene took place in Mexico and according to Uma Thurman's testimony, she asked the director on several occasions that it not be done or, failing that, that it be recorded with an extra specializing in high-risk scenes.
“I promise you the car is fine. It is a straight road. You have to reach 65 kilometers per hour because if you don't, your hair won't wave properly and I'll make you do it again,'” Tarantino told Uma to convince her.
Finally, Tarantino convinced Uma Thurman to do the scene. However, the actress suffered a real accident during filming that put her life in danger:
“The steering wheel was squeezing my belly and my legs were stuck underneath me,” she confessed.
The article published by the American newspaper is accompanied by the following video, which, Uma claims, took 15 years to obtain.
Although Tarantino promised it would be a straight, well-paved route, the recording shows a road full of curves and very irregular.
Seconds after starting her race, Thurman crashes into a tree, the actress is shaken strongly and remains dazed for moments until filming staff take her away to be treated.
“I felt that intense pain and I thought, ‘Oh my God, I'll never walk again,'” she said. “When I came back from the hospital with a special collar on my neck, with my knees damaged and a big egg on my head and a concussion, I wanted to see the car and I was very upset.”
