A close friend said that the Duchess of Sussex is “upset and overwhelmed,” while a spokesperson for the couple delved into the actions they will take. Since its premiere, South Park has managed to position itself as one of the most controversial animated series in the history of television.

Not only because their characters tend to speak with language marked by expletives and obscenities, but also because they often share with guests who have a large number of similarities with real-life celebrities (or who, rightly, are mentioned by name).

Among them have been politicians like Donald Trump, celebrities like Paris Hilton and music stars like Metallica, as well as dictators like the former president of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, among many others.

Now, the American series created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone has once again positioned itself in the eye of discussions, due to a new chapter titled “The World Privacy Tour” (“the world privacy tour”, in Spanish), which It was released last week.

In it, two characters have numerous characteristics similar to those of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry, which is why statements about the events were quickly issued.

The episode is about a prince and his wife, who move to the fictional town of South Park in Colorado in order to plan a world tour to clarify that they want “privacy.” At the same time, he is promoting a book called Waaaagh, which refers to the memoirs published by Harry earlier this year, titled Spare.

During the course of the chapter, both appear full of contradictions, while one of the children who stars in the series, Stan Marsh, describes them as “the foolish prince and his stupid wife.”

Although their names are not mentioned directly, there are other similarities between the characters and members of royalty.

For example, he has red hair and she wears a pink dress very similar to the one Markle wore at the 2018 Trooping the Color ceremony.

The blunt response of the royal marriage

After the broadcast, several rumors emerged that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry intended to sue the creators of South Park.

In fact, someone close to them told The Spectator this week that the Duchess of Sussex was “upset and overwhelmed” by the mockery shown in the episode.

Faced with this scenario, a spokesperson for the royal couple spoke with People magazine to dispel doubts.

“Frankly, it's all nonsense. “Totally unfounded and boring reports,” he said, to make it clear that they are not considering filing legal actions against Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who according to The Independent, have not received notifications in this regard so far.
