Priscilla Presley Shares Reasons Behind Her Decision Not to Remarry After Elvis

Speaking at a question-and-answer session held at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas, Presley explained to the audience that she felt it would be challenging for Elvis to accept her remarriage after his passing in 1977.

Expressing her sentiments, Presley remarked, "I just don't think he could handle it." She further clarified her reluctance to enter into another marriage, stating, "To be honest with you, I never wanted to get married after him. I never had any desire. No one could match him."

Elvis and Priscilla Presley, who first crossed paths while Elvis served in the army, were captured in photographs after their wedding in Las Vegas in 1967.

The couple remained married from 1967 to 1973. The newly released film "Priscilla," directed by Sofia Coppola, delves into the story of how the former couple met and formed a friendship in Germany in 1959 when Presley was 14 and Elvis was 24, ultimately leading to their later marriage.

In September, Priscilla Presley graced the red carpet for the film "Priscilla" at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. During the same event, she discussed her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, born in 1968, revealing that the iconic singer harbored feelings of guilt for not being as close to her as desired.

"Elvis felt like he had a very tight schedule, and he felt a little guilty for not having been around as much when Lisa was younger," she disclosed, emphasizing, "With his schedule and his touring, he just felt like he wasn't around enough to pay close attention to having another child."
