Shelley Duvall's Mental Health Struggles Revealed in Controversial Dr. Phil Interview

The interview, broadcasted on Friday, has sparked controversy over Duvall's apparent fragile state of health. Vivian Kubrick, daughter of the director with whom Duvall collaborated on 'The Shining,' expressed her concern, stating, "Dear Dr. Phil, you are showing Shelley Duvall when she is clearly not in good health. This is undoubtedly a horrifying and exploitative spectacle, in addition to being tremendously cruel."

Adding to the criticism, Patton Oswalt emphasized, "I hope others join me and boycott your soulless form of entertainment because it has nothing to do with compassionate healing. Shelley Duvall deserves respect, not exploitation."

During the interview, Duvall made peculiar claims, including the belief that actor Robin Williams is still alive but continually changing shape, and she asserted that he has a disc in his leg. This isn't the first time Duvall's mental health has been a topic of concern.

In 2009, various media reported her conviction that there was a secret door in the garden of her Texas home through which aliens were entering, and she believed she was possessed by beings from another dimension.

The reappearance of the iconic actress in the public eye has stirred mixed reactions, with some expressing concern for her well-being, while others criticize the exploitative nature of the interview. The controversy surrounding the interview continues to raise questions about the ethical treatment of individuals facing mental health challenges in the public domain.
