Tom Cruise's luxurious residence in South Africa

The actor stayed in a room intended for newlyweds, which in addition to being the largest and most expensive, has unique finishes

Tom Cruise's luxurious residence in South Africa

A few months ago, Tom Cruise surprised the public when it circulated on social networks that he constantly flew a helicopter in South Africa, not only for work reasons, but for pleasure.

What seemed to many to be a maneuver to attract attention actually became a routine for the actor because that was the way in which Cruise arrived at a luxurious suite that he called “home.”

In 2022, Tom lived for a few months in South Africa for the recordings of the eighth installment of Mission: Impossible. Once he finished filming, he returned to the United States, but in December he returned to South Africa.

The surprising thing about his stay in this country is the place he chose to live, which was not a rented house or a small apartment, but a luxurious hotel room in the Kamberg Valley, Drakensberg, in KwaZulu-Natal.

Qambath Mountain Lodge, the sumptuous and exclusive resort where the actor lived, is only for adults, it only has five rooms - that is, they have capacity for 10 guests - and it has a private green area, where Tom would have taken advantage of on some occasions to landing with the helicopter every time he returned from work.

The room the American was in was the Stable Suite, which is the most expensive because it is the only one on the honeymoon and is the largest.

According to the hotel's site, the Stable Suite features its own terrace with hanging chairs “to enjoy the beautiful gardens and mountain views,” and has luxurious finishes, such as a handcrafted wooden king-size bed.

In addition, it has a bathtub and separate toilets for greater guest comfort.

On site it offers some activities such as wine tasting, trout fishing, golf, helicopter rides, mountain bike rides, bird safari, horse riding, spa, organization of picnics and romantic dinners, stargazing, yoga and meditation .

Likewise, you have a pool and offer a “unique” dinner experience, which is made up of five courses, with dishes made by locals.

Because it is located near a vineyard, away from other buildings, it offers an experience outside the stress of the city.

Prices range from USD 160 per person per night to USD 260. Although the prices are relatively normal for a hotel, due to their exclusivity, they do not have reservations available for up to seven months.

As the Qambath Mountain Lodge shared on its social networks, the Top Gun star lived in the facilities for three months and was always friendly to all the employees.

The owner of the hotel shared with News24 that if she had not caught Tom's attention and he had chosen her resort as a temporary home, they possibly would not have overcome the economic crisis caused by the covid-19 pandemic, because in addition to the actor, also part of the production of Mission Impossible 8, stayed in that accommodation.

“If it hadn't been for him and the MI team staying with us, we wouldn't have been able to survive as a business. It is thanks to him that the doors remain open and that the staff can continue feeding their families,” said the owner.

At the end of his stay at the Qambath Mountain Lodge, the protagonist of Interview with the Vampire left a letter for the staff, in which he thanked them for their attention throughout his stay and even called them “family.”
