Harry and Megan are likely venting their frustration by now, while King Charles might consider elevating Zara Tindor to the forefront of Royal engagements.
This move is part of the ongoing efforts to streamline the monarchy amid health concerns for both him and Princess Katherine. King Charles recently left the hospital after a corrective procedure for a benign enlarged prostate, while Princess Katherine is recovering at home following a two-week-long abdominal operation. Her return to Royal duties is not anticipated until after Easter.
Prince William has also paused his own engagements to care for his wife and children, leaving the king with fewer options for Royal events.
In an interview with GB News America, Royal commentator Angela Levan emphasized the need for King Charles to be mindful of appointing individuals with strong connections to Prince Harry. Levan suggested that highlighting Royals friendly with Harry could lead to leaks and might prove awkward if someone close to Prince Andrew is promoted, given the issues the Duke of York is facing.
Levan recommended Zara Tindor, the daughter of Princess Anne, as a suitable candidate, emphasizing her ordinary background that aligns well with the royal family. Levan praised Zara and her husband Mike, who are popular, jolly, honorable, and loyal to the royal family, making them potential choices.
Zara and Mike, living on Princess Anne's Gatcombe Estate in Gloucestershire, are already close to the Wales family and have been hailed for bringing normality to the Royal Family. Despite being 21st in line to the throne and lacking a title, Zara is the fourth most popular living Royal, behind only William, Katherine, and Anne. The couple, professional sportspeople with school-aged children and jobs in the UK, have received positive international reception, particularly during their recent trip to Australia for the Magic Millions competition.
Giles Kenningham, founder of PR and public affairs consultancy Traga Strategy and former Head of Press at Number 10, noted that Zara and Mike are becoming the top earners in the royal family, as Harry and Megan's reputation has taken a hit. The couple, with their sports achievements, have secured lucrative sponsorship deals, positioning themselves favorably.
Kenningham suggested that Zara and Mike, like Zara's hardworking mother Princess Anne, could warm further to the public if they transitioned from sponsorship deals to working roles in the Firm. With their sizable followings and credibility in sports, they appear more relatable and marketable, contrasting with the tarnished image of Harry and Megan.
