Kimai Founders Let Slip Meghan Accepted FREE Diamond Earrings While In Palace On Dragons' Den

Megan Markle has recently become the focal point of a controversy surrounding a piece of jewelry from a renowned British jewelry maker.

Kimai Founders Let Slip Meghan Accepted FREE Diamond Earrings While In Palace On Dragons' Den

Accusations have surfaced that Megan accepted a pair of earrings valued at £1,990 from the female founder of the Jewelry Company Kimi during her tenure as a working member of the British royal family. This jewelry company, which recently appeared on Dragon's Den, proudly revealed that Megan wore their pieces during a public appearance, specifically the Brand's Felicity earrings, individually priced at £995.

The Felicity earrings, adorned with 26 lab-grown diamonds totaling 0.24 carats, elegantly hugged the curve of Megan's ear, featuring three dangling diamonds that swayed with her movement. Described as "Megan Marco's favorite" on the company's website, the Felicity earrings gained attention for their unique design. Kimi's founders, Sydney Nahan and Jessica, took their brand to Dragon's Den seeking a £250,000 investment for a 3% equity stake in their business. They boasted about Megan wearing their designs, claiming that Megan agreed to the deal under the condition of receiving complimentary items.

The controversy surrounding the earrings led to criticism, with some questioning the appropriateness of using funds, possibly tied to King Charles's money, for such extravagant jewelry. Notably, this was not the only instance of Megan accepting freebies during her time in the UK. Prince Harry disclosed in his memoir that Megan received gifts, including wardrobe items for official engagements, from various brands—both established and emerging British designers

According to Harry, Megan's penchant for freebies did not begin with her entry into the royal family. A royal author and close friend of Princess Diana, Tina Brown, claimed that Megan always had a reputation among upscale marketers for her interest in receiving expensive bags of designer freebies. Brown suggested that Megan continued this practice even after joining the royal family, using her defunct blog, The Tig, as a platform to acquire luxury goods.

While it is not against Royal protocol to accept gifts, it is common practice for senior Royals, such as Prince William and Catherine, to return gifts to avoid any potential backlash over freebies. Harry speculated that Megan's frosty relationship with Catherine might be rooted in the Princess of Wales' belief that she could assist Megan with fashion contacts, but Megan already had her own connections. The acceptance of gifts in the royal family reportedly caused trouble for Megan, leading to the dismissal of an assistant who had traded on her position to obtain freebies.
