The real reason why the Princess of Wales and King Charles decided to have surgery in the same hospital

Normally, members of the British Royal House went to the Edward VII Hospital

The real reason why the Princess of Wales and King Charles decided to have surgery in the same hospital

Members of the English Royal Family have long chosen the Edward VII Hospital, located in the quiet London neighborhood of Harley Street, to treat ailments such as Queen Elizabeth II, who underwent knee surgery there in the year 2003, or Queen Camilla and the late Duke of Edinburgh, who spent time admitted to this center in 2012 and 2021 respectively. Therefore, it has caught our attention that King Charles III (75) and the Princess of Wales (42) have opted for The London Clinic for their recent surgery.

As Emily Nash, royal editor at the British magazine HELLO!, and photographers Arthur Edwards and James Whating have explained on the Right Royal podcast, the reason why the sovereign and his daughter-in-law have chosen this hospital on this occasion is not other than the good recognition that the health professionals who work in this private center in Marylebone have.

"They are not rejecting the care they receive at Edward VII, but it is logical that people choose their health center because of the doctors and not because of the center itself and those who work at The London Clinic have a lot of experience."

It should be noted that although the exact name of the doctors who have treated the Head of State and Prince William's wife has not been revealed, on the website of The London Clinic it can be seen that its staff of professionals includes the one who Sir Huw Thomas was Elizabeth II's private doctor, a consultant specialized in digestive issues such as irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory intestinal problems.

The recovery process of King Charles III and the Princess of Wales

Just three days after entering The London Clinic to undergo surgery to treat his enlarged prostate, Charles III left the hospital on his own, looking good, very smiling and accompanied by his wife, Queen Camilla, who has He has been very attentive to him and has paid him several visits. From now on, the monarch will be able to take up to a month away from his public duties to focus fully on his recovery.

The Princess of Wales, for her part, was discharged this Monday after 13 days in hospital due to abdominal surgery. In her case, there were no photographs of her leaving The London Clinic, since her discretion is marking this health bump for Kate Middleton.

At the moment, she is resting at her home in Adelaide Cottage, in Windsor, with her three children, Princes George (10), Charlotte (8) and Louis (5), and her husband, Prince William, who suspended his agenda of official commitments to be able to be by his wife's side at all times.

For now, the Princess of Wales is not expected to resume her duties until Easter, but she could work telematically on several of her projects such as the Shaping Us campaign, a personal initiative of the Princess in which the focus is on mental health of children during early childhood.
