Anne Hathaway recalled a traumatic experience she suffered while doing theater

Anne Hathaway is the talent turned into a human being. The actress has the amazing ability to adapt and excel in any field she immerses herself in, even on the catwalks. It is not for nothing that she is considered one of the most capable and impressive stars of her generation.

The actress has done it all: movies, series, she is an incredible singer, she has been a voice actress, she even participated in a Rap Battle against Emily Blunt. A place where the artist stands out and that she has played numerous times is the theater, specifically Broadway. But unfortunately, a couple of years ago she suffered a terrible experience while she was starring in a one-woman show that she knew was a great challenge to overcome in her life.

Grounded was a show released in 2015 produced and performed solely by Hathaway that lasted 6 weeks on stage. The play followed the story of a fighter pilot who is forced to stop her career due to pregnancy. At that time, Anne was also going through the same condition in real life. The terrible moment came when during that time in which she had to go on stage to perform the show, the actress suffered a spontaneous abortion, a terrible and painful situation in the life of any woman.

As the typical theater phrase says "the show must go on" and despite being terribly sad, the performer continued to move forward day after day despite being in a fragile emotional state. It was even more difficult when you consider that the character she was meant to play was pregnant as well, a constant reminder of the hard loss she had faced.

In a conversation with Vanity Fair, Hathaway recalled the moment and how she fought to be able to live those emotions premiere after premiere. Later years, in 2019, due to this experience, she decided to announce her second pregnancy realistically. "Given the pain I felt trying to get pregnant, it would have seemed false to me to publish something so happy when I know that the story has many more nuances for everyone. The first time it didn't work for me. I was doing a play and I had to give birth in the stage every night. It was too much to bear."

In July 2019, the actress published an image on her Instagram announcing her second pregnancy: "It's not for a movie... Jokes aside, for all those who are going through the hell of infertility and conception, know that it is not "It was a straight line to none of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love."

The actress mentioned that the support of her family and friends was what helped her heal. "It's really hard to want something so much and wonder if you're doing something wrong." Hathaway was surprised to learn that many of her friends had gone through similar experiences and found a study that estimated that up to 50 percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage: "I thought, Where is this information? Why do we feel so unnecessarily isolated? That's where we take the damage. So I decided I was going to talk about it."
