Emma Weymouth BOOTS Meghan Markle from Vanity Fair Awards Insider

Meghan Markle couldn't secure a ticket to Cannes 2024, while Emma Wouth attended the Vanity Fair Awards Insider event hosted by IHG Hotels and Resorts at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in Cannes, France.

Emma Weymouth BOOTS Meghan Markle from Vanity Fair Awards Insider

Emma Thin, currently known as Emma Wouth or Lady Wouth, is a distinguished figure within the British aristocracy. Notably, she is the first woman of color to attain the title of marchioness in Britain. Lady Wouth has garnered recognition for her willingness to challenge and modernize the traditionally conservative British noble circles.

For the Vanity Fair Awards Insider event, Emma wore a stunning yellow gown. It appears that the Marchioness of Bath is making a deliberate statement with her choice of attire, seemingly showing Meghan Markle how to wear a yellow dress with elegance. During her Nigeria tour, Meghan chose to wear the same yellow Carolina Herrera silk overlay column dress that she had previously worn for the announcement of her pregnancy with daughter Lilibet and son Archie's first birthday party.

Initially, it was believed that Meghan chose to wear the dress as a tribute to her children on Mother's Day in the United States. Brenda Christensen, CEO of Stella Public Relations, elaborated on the significance of this choice in an interview with the Mirror. "Choosing to wear the same yellow dress on Mother's Day was deeply symbolic," Christensen explained, "especially since she previously wore it for other meaningful family milestones. It's a celebration of motherhood."

Christensen also noted Meghan's deep connection to spirituality, stemming from her upbringing in Los Angeles by a yoga instructor mother. The color yellow, representing happiness and joy, holds profound spiritual significance in many African cultures, including Nigeria. Yellow is reserved for those of high rank due to its resemblance to gold, symbolizing wealth, quality, success, and royalty. Meghan recently discovered that she is 43% Nigerian, as revealed by a genealogy test. Upon this revelation, she excitedly phoned her mother, stating it was exciting for both of them. She has previously mentioned that being African-American often means not knowing much about your lineage or background. "It's been really eye-opening and humbling to know more about my heritage and to realize this is just the beginning of that discovery," she said.

Earlier during the visit, Meghan was honored as an "Ardam Mari," seemingly a title of respect meaning daughter of an aristocrat of the ancient Aruku Kingdom. Three kings—His Eminence Anger Eruku Oji, E.O. Aro of Ancient Aruku, Igu Alfred Aebe, the Obi of Onitsha, and the Great Olu of Warri Kingdom—took part in the naming ceremony. However, Emma Wouth is regarded as the true Nigerian princess, being the daughter of Nigerian oil trader L. Ji and English socialite Susan Mton.

The Marchioness of Bath has an idyllic life as the chatelaine of the historic Longleat House. She is also a model, TV star, cook, and mother of two adorable children. Emma Thin appears to have it all. In 2019, Emma revealed that despite facing similar issues to Meghan Markle, she wouldn't presume to give her advice, emphasizing that she wouldn't compare herself to Meghan Markle. In an interview, Emma said, "Oh no, I'd never presume to give anyone advice. I wouldn't be so bold. I haven't even met her," she told the publication. "I wouldn't want to compare myself to Meghan. I don't think it would be appropriate."
