Princess Eugenie emphasized the importance of supporting family in a statement following her attendance at a garden party hosted by Prince William on Tuesday afternoon.
The Prince of Wales hosted the garden party in place of King Charles, accompanied by non-working members of the royal family, including Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Zara Tindall, and Mike Tindall. He extended invitations to the younger generation of royals as well as the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
Taking to Instagram, Eugenie shared photos of herself with the future king, Prince William, to send a message to her cousin Harry that nothing is more important than family. She stated, "Come rain or shine, I was delighted to support my family yesterday and meet some special individuals at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party who have gone above and beyond to support their local communities and the country." The montage opened with a shot of Eugenie smiling with the day's must-have accessory—an umbrella—mingling in the rain alongside William, her sister Princess Beatrice, cousins Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, and Zara's husband Mike Tindall.
Eugenie's husband, Jack Brooksbank, who wasn't photographed at the party, dropped a supportive comment on Eugenie's carousel with four clapping hands emojis. A royal fan reacted positively, stating, "Happy to see you supporting your family. That's a nice change from championing H and M's agenda. Keep up the good work."
It seems that Harry has lost another loyal royal friend due to his relationship with Meghan Markle. Meghan allegedly borrowed Princess Eugenie's son, August, to take some pictures. People magazine released a black and white photo claiming that it depicted Meghan and Archie playing at a Southern California beach. However, royal fans pointed out that it was actually Eugenie and her own child being portrayed as Meghan and her son in the media. This photo was apparently taken when Eugenie visited Harry.
Eugenie was once close to Harry, but their relationship began to deteriorate by 2022. The final break came when the Queen died. Despite Peter Phillips informing all the cousins about the situation at Balmoral, Eugenie did not notify Harry. Consequently, Harry was the last to find out and was excluded from events at Balmoral. If Eugenie had maintained their closeness, she would have informed him.
After the release of Harry's documentary and memoir "Spare," Eugenie handed over the keys to Frogmore Cottage to King Charles and moved to Portugal, where Harry hasn't visited her despite being in Portugal himself. For Eugenie, the turning point was the Queen's death and Harry's decision not to halt the documentary or his memoirs, along with his breach of security by allowing a Netflix crew access despite being banned. This was too much for her. She was not featured in Harry's documentary and was dismayed by his lack of concern for Fergie, which was the final straw.
Additionally, Eugenie and Beatrice were seen interacting amicably with Piers Morgan, signaling that the Yorks are not supportive of Harry and Meghan. Beatrice even visited Charles when his cancer diagnosis was revealed to determine who could be relied upon, including Zara and Mike Tindall, who abandoned their plans to move to Australia. Eugenie is no longer concerned about Harry's actions. She hasn't offered him accommodation, and if they were still close, she would have done so in the months when he needed it.
