Meghan Markle Fuming As Sophie Trudeau Denied Friendship With Her In Times' Interview

Meghan Markle is reportedly frustrated after Sophie Trudeau refrained from acknowledging their friendship in a recent interview with The Times.

Meghan Markle Fuming As Sophie Trudeau Denied Friendship With Her In Times' Interview

Despite Markle's previous assertions of a close bond with Trudeau, it appears that the former wife of the Canadian Prime Minister isn't eager to affirm such a connection just yet. Trudeau, who served as the Canadian First Lady alongside her husband, Justin Trudeau, until their 18-year marriage ended in August 2023, discussed the details of their separation in the said interview.

She revealed that despite their split, they maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship for their three children. In the same interview, Trudeau was questioned about her alleged friendship with Meghan Markle, who had publicly referred to her as a "dear friend." However, Trudeau's response painted a different picture, indicating that their interaction hasn't been as frequent or deep as Markle had suggested.

This revelation contrasts with Markle's previous mentions of seeking Trudeau's advice during her tumultuous period with the royal family. Markle, in her now-offline podcast "Archetypes," had emphasized Trudeau's support during her transition away from royal duties in 2022, even claiming that Trudeau had been a source of encouragement during her pregnancy, exchanging meditations and voice notes.

Despite Markle's assertions of a close bond, Trudeau's remarks to The Times seemed to downplay the extent of their friendship, stating, "I know her, but we haven't spent much time together." The apparent disparity in their accounts has fueled speculation about the dynamics of their relationship. Some attribute the distance between Markle and Trudeau to potential conflicts with mutual acquaintances, such as Jessica Mulroney, a stylist and close friend of Trudeau, who reportedly had a falling out with Markle. This rift, coupled with broader rumors about Markle's treatment of friends post-marriage to Prince Harry, has led to conjecture about the true nature of Markle's friendships and her strategic approach to cultivating them.

Royal expert Charlotte Griffiths has weighed in on the matter, suggesting that Markle strategically forms alliances based on their perceived utility, only to discard them once they no longer serve her interests. Griffiths' assessment raises questions about the authenticity of Markle's relationships, particularly within the context of her upbringing in the entertainment industry, where image management often takes precedence over reality. While Markle's father's successful career in lighting direction may have provided her with insights into shaping narratives, Trudeau's candid assessment offers a sobering reminder that authenticity ultimately prevails over artifice.
