Prince Harry will return to the United Kingdom for the first time after the announcement of his sister-in-law Kate's illness
Prince Harry plans to return to the UK next month to take part in a church service at St Paul's Cathedral in London to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which he created to inspire and motivate wounded servicemen, injured and sick, both active personnel and veterans, during their recovery process.
The event will take place on May 8, and this time Harry is expected to fly accompanied by his wife Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, and her two children: Archie and Lilibeth. It will be her first trip back to his old home since February. His previous visit was made alone, mainly because he organized in a hurry so that he could meet with his father, King Charles, after the monarch's cancer diagnosis was announced.
At the time it had not yet been made public that her sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales, was in the early stages of preventive chemotherapy treatment after cancer was detected when she underwent abdominal surgery in January. The big question is whether he will meet his brother, Prince William, and Kate during his stay in the country.
To say that the two maintain a tense relationship today is an understatement. The memoir that Harry published in 2023 was the last straw for the current heir to the throne. In its pages, Harry painted a very unflattering portrait of William, and spoke of a fight during which his brother had pushed him during an argument after he told her that his wife Meghan was a "rude and difficult" person.
In February, William and Harry did not see each other. The Prince of Wales had the perfect excuse to avoid him because the same day that his younger brother landed in London, he resumed his official agenda after putting it on hold for a couple of weeks to accompany his wife in what was then believed to be the process of recovery after his intervention.
