Staff at Fraser Suites Leaked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Fight on Mother's Day in Nigeria

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle allegedly had a significant argument while in Nigeria, as reported by a tabloid.

The dispute was purportedly centered around their children, Archie and Lilibet. Their tour adopted a presidential tone, featuring an escort through Abuja and Lagos with a 14-car convoy, soldiers in balaclavas, and armed personnel. Initially planning to stay at the Transcorp Hilton, they switched to Fraser Suites due to security and logistical concerns because a significant gathering of African leaders was occurring at the same time.

According to the Daily Mail, the Sussexes, along with their security team, various Invictus Games directors, and aides, occupied the entire top floor of Fraser Suites in central Abuja, using it as their base for the trip. They stayed in a $3,000-a-night executive penthouse featuring four bedrooms, a living and dining area, and stunning views of the Nigerian capital. Throughout their stay, the hotel was used for numerous wardrobe changes. Departing early Monday morning from Abuja, they were escorted back to the airport by military personnel.

Fraser Suites boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a gym, swimming pool, two restaurants, and private gardens, though Harry and Meghan opted to dine in their suite and did not frequent the public areas of the hotel. A staff member mentioned that they were instructed not to speak about the couple's stay, but with their departure, it was permissible to share details. The couple arrived early Friday morning and left early Monday morning for their British Airways flight back to London. The switch to Fraser Suites was due to security and concurrent events, and the hotel provided a quieter and more discreet environment.

Despite Harry and Meghan smiling for the cameras during a brief speech at the state governor's house in Lagos on Mother's Day, May 12th, an insider revealed that they were unhappy behind closed doors. Meghan expressed her gratitude and humility in a TikTok video shared by Aruka Network, acknowledging the significance of Mother's Day and her connection to her Nigerian heritage. She mentioned missing her children but felt it was appropriate to be in the motherland among family.

Meghan wore a yellow, floor-length Carolina Herrera dress for the reception at the state governor's house in Lagos. The dress, designed during her pregnancy with Archie, was previously worn for his first birthday in 2020 and for the pregnancy announcement of Lilibet on Valentine's Day in February 2021. The irony of celebrating Mother's Day without their children was noted by observers.

The argument between Harry and Meghan reportedly strained their relationship further. Meghan's extravagant wardrobe during the trip, costing nearly $120,000, was viewed as tone-deaf by some. While she was a working member of the royal family, the cost of her clothes for work engagements was covered by then-Prince Charles through the budget allocated from the Duchy of Cornwall. However, after the couple stated their intention to be financially independent, it remains unclear who is funding Meghan's clothing expenses or whether she always pays full price or receives discounts from designers.
