The couple took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news with their followers. Brooklyn, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, expressed his deep sorrow in a poignant tribute to Nala. Nicola, an actress, echoed his sentiments, revealing that amidst her grief over the recent loss of her grandmother, Bunny, Nala's passing has compounded her sadness.
Nicola recounted how Nala, whom she had lovingly adopted from a shelter nine years ago, suddenly struggled to breathe and tragically passed away shortly after being rushed to the vet.
"This month has been incredibly difficult for me," Nicola shared on Instagram. "Losing Nala feels like a pain I can't put into words. She was my loyal companion for nine years, always by my side through everything. Each day without her feels like an eternity. I wish I could hold her again. I pray she's with my Nani now, and I hope to see them both again soon."
Brooklyn added his own heartfelt words, remembering Nala as "the cutest little baby girl" who was taken from them too soon. He reassured Nala that they love her dearly and miss her greatly.
The couple, known for their love of animals, including their white puppy named Lamb, which they introduced after losing their previous dog Bear last year, wed in a lavish ceremony in April 2022.
In addition to mourning Nala, Brooklyn recently honored Nicola's late grandmother Bunny in a touching Instagram tribute. Bunny, who passed away at the age of 95, was Nicola's Maid of Honor at their wedding. In his post, Brooklyn thanked Bunny, whom the family fondly referred to as Nani, for teaching him to find joy in every moment. "Nani, you were the sweetest and happiest person ever," Brooklyn wrote. "You brought so much joy to everyone around you. It was an honor to be your grandson for the past four years. I promise to take care of Nicola and your family. I will miss you dearly."
Initially, the news of Bunny's passing was shared by Nicola's brother, Bradley Peltz, who posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. He described Bunny as an angel on Earth, noting her infectious smile and the warmth she brought to everyone she encountered.
