Princess Katherine to Attend Wimbledon Men's Final, Kensington Palace Confirms

Kensington Palace has officially announced that Princess Katherine will be attending the Wimbledon Men's Final tomorrow.

Princess Katherine to Attend Wimbledon Men's Final, Kensington Palace Confirms

As the Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the Princess of Wales is expected to present the trophy to the winner of the prestigious men's singles final. Royal fans who were eagerly hoping to see the princess at the 2024 tournament will be pleased to know she will be there to present the trophy to either Novak Djokovic or Carlos Alcaraz. It remains unclear whether any of her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, or Prince Louis, will accompany her.

Contrary to earlier expectations, the Princess of Wales will not attend today's event. Instead, Wimbledon Chairwoman Debbie Jevans will present the Women's Champion trophy on her behalf to either Jasmine Paolini or Barbora Krejčíková. This announcement follows recent reports that Wimbledon had prepared backup plans in case the princess, who is undergoing preventative chemotherapy, was unable to attend this year.

Princess Katherine has largely remained out of the public eye since her cancer diagnosis earlier this year. However, she made a surprising appearance at Trooping the Colour, joining the rest of the royal family. This was her first public appearance since Christmas Day last year. While aides emphasize that her presence at the King's Birthday Parade was a sign of her improving health, they also stress that it does not indicate a full return to her royal duties. Instead, Princess Katherine will attend events over the summer as her health permits, with the support and guidance of her medical team.

Meanwhile, Prince William is set to fly to Berlin tomorrow for the Euro 2024 final, where England will face off against Spain. The Palace has confirmed that the Prince of Wales will be accompanied by Britain's new Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, as they support the men's team in their attempt to avenge their 2020 final loss to Italy.
