Alfonso Ribeiro Denies Meghan Markle Entry Into 'dancing With the Stars

Meghan Markle has encountered yet another setback in her relentless quest for the spotlight.

Alfonso Ribeiro Denies Meghan Markle Entry Into 'dancing With the Stars

Several months ago, rumors began circulating on Reddit, fueled by a well-connected insider, suggesting that Meghan had her sights set on a spot in the upcoming 34th season of Dancing With the Stars, which is slated to air in 2025. However, despite the buzz, it appears that the ballroom doors have been firmly closed on her. The show has opted to pass on Meghan Markle, and the rejection wasn’t exactly subtle.

In her place, Dancing With the Stars chose a contestant with a completely different kind of notoriety: infamous scam artist Anna Delvey. The decision to cast Delvey over Meghan is almost poetic, highlighting the sharp contrast between a disgraced fraudster and the former duchess. In reality, though, this might be a blessing in disguise for Meghan. Let’s be honest—she’s not exactly known for her dancing prowess. Despite reports that her father once paid for dance lessons, Meghan’s performances over the years have been stiff and lacking rhythm, suggesting that those lessons didn’t quite pay off.

It’s easy to imagine how Meghan might have fared on the show—awkwardly flailing around with all the grace of a wooden marionette. If she had been eliminated early on, it could have led to a dramatic and emotional exit, with tears streaming down her face as she struggled to comprehend the judges’ harsh critiques. In fact, the behind-the-scenes drama and diva-like moments might have provided more entertainment than her actual dancing.

But Meghan’s troubles don’t stop there. Once again, she finds herself sidelined, facing rejection from yet another platform. From her departure from the British royal family to her unsteady ventures in Hollywood, and now a snub from reality TV, it seems as though no one is keen to welcome her into their spotlight. Perhaps it’s time for her to take the hint, although she may be too busy polishing her self-assigned royal title to notice the trend.

Ironically, while Meghan was left out in the cold, the show made room for someone like Delvey, a convicted fraudster. It’s a striking twist of fate that Dancing With the Stars would choose a notorious scam artist over a former royal. In any case, Meghan likely wouldn’t have stood a chance against someone who conned New York’s elite, especially while she struggled to master basic dance moves.

In the midst of this, Eric Roberts, a fellow contestant on Dancing With the Stars and a former co-star of Meghan during her time on Suits, shared some light-hearted memories. While promoting his upcoming dance debut and new movie, Roberts joked that Meghan had "broken his heart" when she left him for Prince Harry. However, he quickly followed up his jest with praise, describing her as a soft-spoken professional and a well-prepared colleague. Despite Roberts’ kind words, he also acknowledged the mixed feelings that many people—particularly within the royal family—harbor towards Meghan.

It’s fascinating to witness Meghan’s journey as it continues to unfold. She may now hold the title of princess, but even that wasn’t enough to land her a spot on a reality dance show. Nonetheless, she remains royalty, even if her dreams of shining on reality TV have yet to materialize.
