The Duchess of Cambridge sent a message to her followers through her Instagram
Kate Middleton has shared an emotional message announcing the conclusion of her chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with cancer months ago. In her post, the Princess of Wales also included a video made by Will Warr, which shows the Princess with Prince William and her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Middleton's message began by expressing her relief at the end of chemotherapy treatment with the arrival of the end of summer. "I cannot describe how relieved I feel to have finally completed the treatment," she said. She added that the last nine months have been extremely difficult for her family, facing a life that can change abruptly.
The Princess underwent abdominal surgery in January and revealed her cancer diagnosis in March. She reflected on the complexity and fear that comes with the cancer journey, highlighting how this experience confronts one with their vulnerabilities and provides a new perspective on life.
The Duchess of Cambridge said that this process has reminded her and Prince William of the importance of valuing the simple and meaningful things that are often taken for granted, such as love and connection with others.
Despite having completed chemotherapy, Kate warned that the road to recovery is long. “I am focused on doing everything I can to remain cancer-free. Although I am finished with chemotherapy, the healing process is extensive and I must face each day as it comes,” she explained, adding that she is eager to resume her public engagements when possible.
Finally, Kate concluded with a message of hope for those who continue their own battle with cancer. “I remain with you in spirit and support. From darkness can come light, so let that light shine brightly,” she said with hope and gratitude.
