Lizzie Cundy, a former friend of Meghan's, has once again spoken candidly, and her boldness is certainly impressive. I must give credit to Lizzie for her courage in addressing Meghan directly at the event, revealing some hard truths about the Duchess's presence there, which seemed to be primarily for the photo opportunities.
For those unfamiliar with their history, Lizzie and Meghan were once quite close. In fact, Lizzie played a significant role in helping Meghan when she first moved to London, even attempting to set her up with a British suitor before she met Prince Harry. From what I gather, Lizzie was instrumental in Meghan’s early social connections in London. However, after Meghan secured her relationship with Prince Harry, she "Markled" Lizzie—a term that has come to mean ghosting or cutting off someone abruptly, which Meghan has reportedly done to several people over the years. Unlike many others who have faced a similar fate, Lizzie has not remained silent and continues to speak openly about her experience.
At the charity event on Saturday, Lizzie remarked on the lack of genuine warmth toward Meghan when she arrived. According to Lizzie, Meghan didn’t stay long and seemed to be present only for the cameras. She added that Meghan needs Los Angeles far more than Los Angeles needs her—a sentiment that resonates with many in the city who feel they’ve been misled by her. Lizzie, who looked stunning in her red dress at the event, had no need to worry about her appearance. However, Meghan, in her crumpled and ill-fitting dress, left many wondering what she was thinking.
There’s a lot of truth in what Lizzie said, and it's becoming increasingly apparent to more people what Meghan and Harry are truly about. Many are now realizing that the couple’s public appearances often feel more like calculated photo opportunities than genuine acts of charity or community involvement. Lizzie’s history with Meghan stretches back to 2013 when they met at a gala. Following Meghan’s engagement to Harry, Lizzie was ghosted, much like many others who were once part of Meghan's circle. Lizzie has even pointed out that Meghan’s own family has experienced the same treatment, so she wasn’t alone in this regard.
Lizzie’s assertion that Meghan uses people for her own benefit is hard to ignore, especially when we examine the footage from the charity event. It’s clear that Meghan was there for the cameras, smiling and posing with the children before quickly leaving. The photos were later posted on Meghan and Harry’s official website, showcasing their attendance at the event. But as Lizzie astutely noted, this was more about optics than actual involvement in the cause.
A crucial question remains: Did Meghan even donate to the hospital? While the event was meant to honor the hospital’s services and recognize special guests like Sugar Ray Leonard and Chuck Lorre, Meghan was not among the honorees. Nevertheless, her presence was highly publicized with numerous photos capturing her involvement. Once again, it seems the focus was on the photo ops rather than genuine support for the cause.
