Saturday Night Live ROASTS Prince Harry Over Diddy Connection in Weekend Update

In a world where members of the royal family are expected to enjoy their prestigious status, one particular "spare" finds himself caught in the crosshairs of Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update segment.

Saturday Night Live ROASTS Prince Harry Over Diddy Connection in Weekend Update

Diddy, the once-celebrated music mogul who dominated the charts and nightlife, is now facing severe legal troubles. Recently arrested on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, Diddy is entangled in allegations so shocking that even the most seasoned scandal-watchers would be taken aback. These charges include hosting wild, inappropriate parties and sexually assaulting over a hundred individuals. However, instead of diving into the seriousness of these allegations, SNL took a different approach, weaving humor around Diddy’s misfortunes—and somehow managing to rope Prince Harry into the comedic fray.

Michael Che kicked off the segment by saying, “It was reported that the U.S. added 245,000 new jobs. Unfortunately, they were all Diddy accusers,” reducing a horrifying scandal into a simple punchline. But what made it all the more bizarre was Prince Harry’s involvement in this joke. Then, Colin Jost chimed in with a cheeky comment about Diddy once inviting Harry and his brother William to one of his infamous parties. Jost quipped, “They didn’t go, but before Diddy could even finish writing the invite, Prince Andrew was already there.” This jab at Prince Andrew added another layer of royal absurdity to the sketch, but the humor took a turn when an old clip resurfaced.

In a 2011 episode of The Graham Norton Show, Diddy claimed that both William and Harry had attended his parties back in the day. Royal author Christopher Andersen, however, was quick to step in, clarifying that the brothers had wisely declined those invitations. After all, the palace staff likely had their hands full dodging controversies while Harry was out making headlines by befriending the likes of Paris Hilton and other celebrities of the early 2000s party scene. Harry’s fascination with that world was evident, as he seemingly longed to join the crowd of wild, tabloid-loving stars like Lindsay Lohan and the Kardashians.

While William, the responsible heir to the throne, distanced himself from that lifestyle, Harry—ever the "spare"—didn't seem to care about his public image. He relished his role as the rebellious, fun-loving prince. Yet now, the fun has turned into a full-blown public relations nightmare. Although there's no concrete evidence that Harry ever attended one of Diddy’s notorious parties, the connection feels plausible. With Harry’s past associations and Diddy’s fascination with the royal family's stature, it's easy to imagine the two crossing paths in some capacity—perhaps in a casual setting or a private gathering.

As Prince Harry continues to navigate one scandal after another, it's hard not to wonder if he'll be making any public appearances in the U.S. anytime soon. Meanwhile, his wife Meghan Markle seems to be forging her own path, charting a course separate from the chaos surrounding the royal family. As Harry’s connections grow increasingly complicated, it will be intriguing to see how this saga unfolds. Will Harry show up at the next major royal event, or will his ties to controversial figures like Diddy create even more distance between him and the monarchy? One thing is certain: his life is getting messier by the minute.
