Furthermore, reports indicate that, in October 2023, both the CEO and CFO of the Invictus organization were dismissed following alleged whistleblowing incidents. Supposedly, they revealed shocking financial practices, claiming that Harry and Meghan pocketed substantial funds during the previous games, including an estimated $250,000 in appearance fees and $130,000 in clothing and makeup expenses. They reportedly also reserved an entire floor of a luxury hotel and traveled by private jet, despite the fact that tickets for the 2023 Düsseldorf event were free.
Attendance issues reportedly plagued the Düsseldorf event, with claims that school children and military personnel were bussed in to fill empty seats. Harry’s own birthday celebration, held during the Games, was reportedly so sparsely attended that the organizers had to hire a school bus to increase attendance. Further adding to the tension, there are rumors that Harry has threatened legal action over accusations that an Invictus fundraiser was canceled to prioritize commitments related to the Sussexes’ Netflix contract.
