Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, did not accompany her husband, Prince Harry, on his recent visit to Canada.
On Sunday, the Duke of Sussex made a surprise appearance at the Grey Cup in Vancouver to promote the upcoming Invictus Games, scheduled to take place in February 2025 in Vancouver and Whistler. Unlike a previous trip earlier this year, when Meghan joined Harry in Canada to mark the one-year countdown to the Games, this time she stayed behind at their Montecito home in California.
This comes shortly after Meghan was spotted enjoying a night out in Los Angeles, celebrating the launch of her close friend and hair colorist Kadi Lee’s new haircare line.
The Sussexes have been appearing solo at various events since their trip to Colombia in August. In recent months, Prince Harry has traveled to destinations such as New York, the UK, South Africa, and Lesotho, while Meghan has focused on her projects in California.
Some speculate that these separate endeavors hint at divided business interests. However, a source close to the couple clarified to HELLO! that the pair had always planned to pursue individual ventures while maintaining their shared commitment to the Archewell Foundation.
"Harry and Meghan have long worked on personal projects tied to their unique passions but remain united in their goals through Archewell," the source explained. "They are also collaborating on exciting initiatives aimed at creating a positive global impact."
Prince Harry continues his involvement with charitable initiatives and is gearing up for the next Invictus Games in 2025. Meanwhile, Meghan is preparing for the launch of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which she teased earlier this year on Instagram. The Duchess is also working on her Netflix series, which blends her love for cooking with themes of friendship and hosting.
Though Meghan has no plans to return to acting, her creative endeavors suggest she is carving out a distinct niche outside of royal duties.
Canada holds a special place in Harry and Meghan’s relationship. Meghan, a former star of Suits, lived in Toronto during the early days of their romance. The couple frequently traveled between Canada and the UK, enjoying private moments, including a Halloween outing in Toronto before their relationship became public.
In 2017, Meghan and Harry made their public debut at the Invictus Games in Toronto, just weeks before announcing their engagement. Later, in 2019, they spent an extended holiday in British Columbia with their son Archie, taking a break from royal duties.
