Speculation Around Meghan Markle's Memoir Grows Amid Prince Harry's US Deportation Rumors

As rumors swirl about Meghan Markle potentially authoring a memoir, the question arises whether the Duchess of Sussex is ready to delve into her experiences as a member of the British royal family.

Speculation Around Meghan Markle's Memoir Grows Amid Prince Harry's US Deportation Rumors

While the prospect of such a book generates widespread interest, external factors—including political tensions and her husband's precarious US residency status—may be influencing her decision to hold back. According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, Meghan has the potential to captivate readers with a memoir, especially given the global fascination with her life and her relationship with the royal family. Fitzwilliams emphasized that any memoir by Meghan would likely be a bestseller, provided it includes sensational and previously undisclosed details. However, he cautioned that the timing of such a release would be critical.

“Right now, with two senior royals—King Charles and Kate Middleton—facing health challenges, it would be perceived as highly insensitive for Meghan to release a book that could be interpreted as another attack or source of embarrassment for the royal family,” Fitzwilliams explained in an interview with The Express.

He also noted the complexities Meghan might face in deciding what to reveal about her estranged family. “Apart from her mother, Doria Ragland, Meghan is largely disconnected from her relatives. This estrangement could either become a central theme in her memoir or a sensitive topic she might prefer to avoid.”

Adding to the tension is Prince Harry’s residency in the United States. Speculation has intensified following Donald Trump’s recent return to the political spotlight. Fitzwilliams pointed out that Trump might seek to scrutinize Harry’s visa application, particularly regarding his admission of past drug use, which was openly discussed in his memoir, Spare, and during promotional interviews.

“The uncertainty surrounding Prince Harry’s US residency status has significant implications. If Meghan were to release a memoir now, it could exacerbate existing tensions and draw even more scrutiny to their situation,” Fitzwilliams added.

In light of these challenges, rumors about the couple securing a property in Portugal have gained traction. Fitzwilliams suggested this potential “bolthole” could serve as a contingency plan should their life in California face disruption.

While the prospect of Meghan Markle’s memoir remains a tantalizing possibility, it is evident that timing, content, and external political factors will play a decisive role in determining when or if such a project comes to fruition.
