Meghan Markle is facing considerable disappointment as her fans express their lack of excitement about her upcoming Netflix cooking show, With Love, Megan, which is set to premiere on January 15th.
The Duchess of Sussex had initially promised that the series would showcase her culinary skills, featuring celebrity guests and offering a glimpse into her kitchen. However, with the debut just days away, many fans have already voiced their disinterest. Some even took to social media to share humorous suggestions of other activities they would prefer over watching the show.
In a recent poll conducted by Express UK between January 3rd and January 6th, readers were asked whether they were looking forward to Meghan's new series. The results were overwhelmingly negative, with a staggering 98% of the 9,720 participants expressing no interest in watching. Only 2% (201 votes) were excited, while the remaining 30 voters were unsure. The comment section revealed fans' reluctance, with one user humorously stating, “I’d rather watch paint dry,” while another added, “I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than watch With Love, Megan.”
Meanwhile, in a bizarre twist to the ongoing legal drama between Meghan Markle and her estranged half-sister, Samantha Markle, a recent defamation lawsuit filed by Samantha contained a significant error. In the court documents, Prince Harry was mistakenly referred to as the Duke of Wales, a title actually held by his brother, Prince William. Samantha's legal team made this mix-up while pursuing the lawsuit, accusing Meghan of defamation following an interview. However, Samantha's lawyer, Peter Tickton, appeared unfazed by the mistake. He remarked that, for most Americans, the distinction between titles like Duke of Wales, Duke of Sussex, or Duke of Earl was irrelevant.
Tickton also criticized the influence of American politics on Harry's status, suggesting that his connections could expose him to scrutiny, particularly concerning his immigration records, given the revelations about his past drug use and his memoir, Spare. Political commentator Niles Gardner also pointed out that any dishonesty in Harry’s immigration application could lead to serious legal consequences, potentially resulting in his removal from the U.S.
Before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their departure from royal duties in 2020, Meghan had hinted at her desire to break away from royal traditions in a candid interview with Vanity Fair in 2017. When asked about her relationship with Harry and her future role in the royal family, Meghan expressed how special their bond was, despite being advised to keep their relationship private. She described their connection as unique, saying, “We’re a couple, we’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time, this is for us.” Her openness reportedly frustrated palace officials, as she and Harry had only recently begun dating in July 2016.
More recently, Meghan found herself at the center of controversy after making a questionable choice in her attire during a joint appearance with Prince Harry to discuss children’s safety in the digital world. While both wore poppies in honor of Remembrance Day, Meghan’s poppy appeared notably different from Harry’s, missing the traditional leaves on the stock. This discrepancy drew criticism from fans, who found her choice disrespectful, questioning her commitment to royal traditions. Despite their public support for various charitable causes, this poppy issue reignited online debates regarding Meghan’s adherence to royal protocols during public appearances.
