Tyler Perry and Oprah Slam Meghan Markle's Cooking Show

The trailer for Meghan Markle’s highly anticipated cooking show has finally dropped.

Tyler Perry and Oprah Slam Meghan Markle's Cooking Show

While it promises plenty of delightful kitchen moments, one thing stands out: the glaring absence of the A-list friends we expected to see. Where are Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, or even Tyler Perry—the high-profile names Meghan often cites as part of her inner circle? Instead, the trailer showcases familiar faces like Mindy Kaling. Sure, Mindy is charming, but let’s be honest—she doesn’t exactly dominate Hollywood’s elite ranks. And Ellen DeGeneres? Nowhere to be found, likely because her reputation in the UK has taken a hit in recent years.

The absence of heavyweight celebrities raises eyebrows. Are her A-list friends simply too busy, or is Meghan unwilling to open her wallet for celebrity cameos? Imagine Oprah, Serena, or Tyler Perry cooking on camera without compensation. True friends might make an appearance out of loyalty, but their noticeable absence speaks volumes.

Instead, the trailer parades a lineup of acquaintances—people who feel more like casual photo-op companions than genuine besties. Abigail Spencer and Mindy Kaling aren’t exactly at the top of Hollywood’s A-list roster. And what about George and Amal Clooney? The Obamas? Even Patrick J. Adams, Meghan’s former Suits co-star, is nowhere in sight. It’s almost as if the real stars are tactfully avoiding this carefully curated kitchen scene.

The awkwardness doesn’t stop there. The trailer highlights a few familiar faces, but not the ones anyone expected. Meghan’s makeup artist, Daniel Martin, makes an appearance—apparently one of her closest confidants. Also featured is Delfina Blaquier, the wife of Prince Harry’s polo buddy. Let’s be honest—this is far from the dazzling, star-studded crowd the public was hoping to see.

And then there’s the elephant in the room—Meghan’s own family. Both her family and Harry’s are conspicuously absent. Even her children don’t make a cameo. If the show was intended to be a heartwarming family affair, it’s a hard sell when no actual family members are involved.

The entire production feels like a desperate bid for relevance in a Hollywood landscape that may be moving on. Without genuine star power or compelling content, the show risks coming across as yet another awkward attempt to stay in the spotlight.

At the end of the day, if Oprah can’t be persuaded to join you for tea and cake, perhaps it’s time to reconsider just how solid those so-called A-list connections really are.
