Prince William took passengers by surprise when he unexpectedly boarded a train today, engaging in friendly conversations during the journey.
He was traveling north from London to Liverpool on an Avanti West Coast service for two engagements aimed at highlighting the work of vital community groups supporting young people. Commuters and railway staff were astonished to see the future king seated in a first-class carriage, smiling and chatting with fellow passengers. Upon arriving at Liverpool Lime Street Station, he cheerfully greeted those around him as they disembarked.
Dressed casually in a dark green jacket and matching trainers, William carried a folder of notes as he left the station, beaming. His presence on public transport has become a familiar sight, as just last week he returned from a conference in Birmingham by train, making a stop at a Wetherspoon pub in the city’s New Street Station to enjoy a pint with fellow Aston Villa fans. Last year, a photo shared on social media showed him traveling on a Great Western Railway service from London to Cardiff, reviewing his notes en route to an engagement in Wales.
During his visit to Liverpool, William met with two organizations. The first, Psych of Life, is supported by BBC Children in Need and helps young people from diverse backgrounds enhance their physical and mental health while improving their employment opportunities through cycling. Later, he visited the Tyber Centre, where a group of young people has established a vibrant hub for the local community. Crowds gathered eagerly to take selfies with him, and he even joined a football match in front of legendary sports figure Sir Kenny Dalglish.
