Netflix’s decision to move forward with a second season of With Love, Meghan has raised questions, particularly given the show's inability to maintain a spot in the platform’s Top 10 rankings.
Media expert Richard Eden, the Diary Editor for the Daily Mail, recently shared insights on the matter during an episode of Palace Confidential. Eden pointed out that Netflix had already invested in the production by securing a filming location and renting a mansion, where they shot enough footage for two seasons simultaneously.
Since all the material was already completed, it was inevitable that Netflix would release the second season in the autumn. He speculated that the only scenario in which Netflix might have reconsidered would have been an overwhelmingly negative reception.
Jo Elvin agreed with Eden’s assessment, stating that once Netflix had already allocated funds to the project, it was unlikely they would withhold the content. Eden further elaborated that Netflix has a vested financial interest in Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand, which could be a key motivation for the continued release. As the company profits from products associated with the brand—such as jams and decorative edible flowers—the show’s continuation serves as a strategic move to enhance their financial returns.
