After a brief hospital stay due to side effects from his cancer treatment, King Charles has returned to his royal duties. Buckingham Palace has released the first photos of the monarch since his time in the hospital, marking his return to public life.
The King had to cancel his scheduled engagements the previous week after experiencing temporary side effects from his ongoing cancer treatment, which required a short period of observation in the hospital. In an official statement, the Palace explained that King Charles had experienced these side effects during his routine medical treatment and needed medical attention for a brief time. Despite the interruption, the monarch has now resumed his royal responsibilities, and the Palace shared images of him at a special event.
The photos were taken during an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, where King Charles presented various honors to individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective fields. The Palace’s Instagram post highlighted the meaningful occasion, stating, "A wonderful morning at Windsor Castle as The King presented honours to recognise incredible people at an Investiture."
Among the recipients was Alan Titchmarsh, who was awarded a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for his exceptional contributions to horticulture and charity work. Another notable recipient was Katarina Johnson-Thompson, who received an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for her outstanding achievements in athletics. Additionally, Professor Sir Wayne McGregor was knighted for his services to dance, and Marianela Nuñez was awarded an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for her distinguished career in dance.
At the ceremony, King Charles expressed his admiration for the recipients, saying, "Congratulations to all those who received honours today!" His return to royal duties and the recognition of these exceptional individuals has marked a return to normalcy for the monarchy after a brief health-related pause.
