Meghan Markle’s career has become a neverending spectacle, and honestly, it’s getting downright embarrassing. If anyone thought Meghan was finished launching new projects, they were sorely mistaken.
She seems to announce a fresh venture almost every week, as if it's some kind of personal competition. The problem is, each new endeavor falls flat, and even seasoned royal experts are starting to take notice. Among them is Tina Brown—renowned biographer of Princess Diana and former editor of Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, and The Daily Beast—who recently delivered some cutting commentary on Meghan’s endless stream of projects. Tina, never one to sugarcoat her opinions, bluntly said that Meghan is beginning to look downright ridiculous, a harsh verdict from someone who once helped build the modern royal media empire.
In just this year alone, Meghan has launched three major projects: her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, and a new podcast titled Confessions of a Female Founder. Unfortunately, all three have been met with lukewarm receptions at best. With Love, Meghan didn’t exactly wow critics, who compared its blandness to a bad cup of coffee. Her lifestyle brand came across as vague and uninspired, lacking any clear identity, and now her podcast has been met with a collective shrug. It’s beginning to feel as if Meghan’s only goal is to remain in the headlines, regardless of whether the projects have real value or staying power.
Tina Brown’s critique hit even harder when she pointed out that Meghan seems almost compulsive about announcing projects, yet none of them actually materialize into anything significant. They simply fizzle out, one after another. What initially seemed entertaining—watching this nonstop rollout of ventures—has started to feel increasingly sad. Meghan appears to be grasping for relevance, launching projects she cannot fully commit to, and the results have been disappointing. One has to wonder if she even realizes how absurd the constant cycle of announcements looks. Week after week, there's a new big idea, but none of them leave a lasting impact. Her lifestyle brand failed to make a splash, her Netflix show didn’t capture public attention, and her podcast is already being panned by critics.
Still, Meghan continues doing what she does best: unveiling new ventures with grand promises, only for them to be forgotten within days. Tina Brown even expressed a degree of sympathy for her, saying she sees Meghan as lost. It’s hard to disagree. Meghan transitioned from a duchess with powerful royal connections to someone who seems increasingly desperate to carve out a new public identity without a strong foundation to support it. Instead of building something meaningful, she’s racing from one project to the next, each more underwhelming than the last.
Harry’s situation doesn’t escape scrutiny either. Tina Brown remarked that she hopes Harry can eventually find his way out of the chaos. According to her, Harry is a genuine talent who deserves more than being swept up in this endless series of hollow initiatives. That had to hurt. It feels as if Harry is caught up in Meghan’s whirlwind of ambition, and though he may possess real potential, it’s being squandered in the frenzy of half-baked ventures. Meghan seems determined to prove something to the world, but in doing so, she only highlights how disconnected she’s become from reality. It’s like watching someone try to start a new business every week without any real preparation or understanding.
At a certain point, it becomes impossible not to feel at least a little bad for her. She’s stuck in a cycle of grand announcements and broken promises, leaving behind a trail of projects that fail to resonate. While Meghan’s PR machine has kept her in the public eye, the cracks are becoming impossible to ignore. Every new launch only reinforces the perception that she’s more style than substance. Maybe it’s time she took a break from the relentless announcements and focused on truly completing something worthwhile. Then again, knowing Meghan, it wouldn’t be surprising if a new project is announced by next week—because why not?
