With Love, Meghan Canceled! Netflix Abandons Sussexes After PR Chaos and Viewer Boycott

When Netflix entered into a $110 million agreement with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2020, many saw it as a forward-thinking investment in a modern royal brand poised to redefine the 21st century.

With Love, Meghan Canceled! Netflix Abandons Sussexes After PR Chaos and Viewer Boycott

At the time, the couple’s potential to merge royalty with media savvy seemed limitless. However, just a few years later, that initial enthusiasm has shifted into doubt. Meghan, once celebrated as a refreshing force in the monarchy, now finds her public image unraveling on the very media platform she helped construct. A recent promotional clip for her initiative, With Love, Meghan, drew considerable scrutiny. In the video, she is seen interacting with her child, who appears to say, “Hi Mommy.” But sharp-eyed viewers quickly noticed that the voice sounded unmistakably like Meghan’s own.

There was no child in view, no ambient background noise to support the scene—what was meant to appear as a candid family moment instead struck many as staged. For some, it was merely a minor editing blunder. For others, it symbolized a larger issue: Meghan’s increasing tendency to blur the line between authenticity and performance.

The controversy didn’t end there. Meghan’s revival of her previously unsuccessful lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard—now rebranded as Ever—has also stirred debate. Among the launch items were jars of artisan jam, which reportedly sold out in just 30 minutes. While the branding evoked a handmade, personal touch, the reality was quite different. According to fine print on the official site, all transactions were handled by Snowcommerce, an e-commerce company based in Cincinnati that has faced criticism over its customer service. This raised broader questions about whether the brand is a genuine expression of Meghan’s personal passions or merely another carefully constructed PR endeavor cloaked in royal nostalgia.

Adding to the growing disconnect between image and reality, Meghan has frequently presented herself as a health-conscious, hands-on mother. Yet in a recent interview with The New York Times, she admitted to regularly feeding her children frozen dinners and store-bought chicken nuggets. This candid admission stood in stark contrast to the organic, wholesome lifestyle she has projected in various promotional appearances, leaving many to wonder which version of Meghan is the true one.

Meanwhile, Harry has found himself entangled in a charity-related scandal. Leaked emails and insider accounts suggest he tried to influence the operations of an African nonprofit he had long supported. Dr. Sophie Chandaka, the head of the organization, went public with allegations that Harry had pressured her to speak out in Meghan’s defense amid mounting public criticism. At the same time, Sentebale, a charity he co-founded, is now under formal investigation in the UK, adding further strain to their public image.

Netflix, for its part, is reportedly reconsidering its partnership with the couple. The With Love, Meghan project has failed to draw the expected audience, with its trailer not even appearing on Samba TV’s rankings—a clear sign of waning viewer interest. Taken together, these developments suggest Meghan is caught in a self-created media spiral, where each new venture is seen less as a creative or personal pursuit and more as a calculated move to bolster her brand.

As public perception continues to shift, the disconnect between Meghan’s words and actions has become harder to ignore. What was once hailed as a narrative of empowerment and authenticity now appears increasingly hollow. The question is no longer what Meghan will do next—but whether anyone is still paying attention.
