Kensington Palace has unveiled a captivating video featuring Kate Middleton and Prince William in honor of Armed Forces Day.
The clip, shared across the palace’s official social media channels, included a heartfelt message from the royal couple expressing their gratitude and pride. “Proud to mark Armed Forces Day,” the message read, followed by a sincere thank you: “Thank you to everyone serving in the British Armed Forces, and to all veterans, for your courage, dedication and sacrifice.”
The British Royal Family, including King Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, has a deep-rooted connection with the military. This tradition dates back centuries, from the time when monarchs led troops in battle to the modern-day Royals who support service members through honorary roles and patronages. Military engagement remains a significant part of their public responsibilities.
Kate Middleton holds several honorary military titles, underscoring her commitment to the Armed Forces. She serves as Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm, Colonel-in-Chief of the 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards, and Royal Honorary Air Commodore of Royal Air Force Coningsby. In addition, she is Colonel of the Irish Guards, Royal Honorary Air Commodore of the Air Cadets, and the Sponsor of HMS Glasgow.
Prince William also maintains close ties with the military. He holds the titles of Colonel-in-Chief of both The Army Air Corps and The Mercian Regiment, as well as Royal Honorary Air Commodore at RAF Valley. His military background includes service as a Platoon Commander in The Blues and Royals and completion of flight training with the Royal Air Force. He later served for three years as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot based at RAF Valley in Anglesey, Wales.
