Buckingham Palace has released a notable update concerning Prince Andrew following reports of a private understanding between him and King Charles.
Sources have revealed that the monarch and his younger brother have come to a special agreement, as reported by Marie Claire.
This update comes after Prince Andrew was once again seen at the Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle, despite being excluded from the public portion of the event for the fourth consecutive year. The Order of the Garter, regarded as Britain’s most senior and historic chivalric order, is traditionally commemorated with a ceremonial procession and service within the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Photographs shared by Buckingham Palace showed members of the royal family, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, attending the Garter Day service at St George’s Chapel. However, a more revealing detail came from the Court Circular, published on the royal family’s official website, which confirmed Prince Andrew’s presence at the exclusive Luncheon Party for the Companions of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.
According to the statement, “16 June 2025, Windsor Castle: The King and Queen gave a Luncheon Party for the Companions of the Most Noble Order of the Garter at which The Prince of Wales, The Duke of York, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent were present.”
An insider told the Daily Express, via Marie Claire, that while Prince Andrew remains excluded from the public procession, he was nonetheless invited to attend both the lunch and investiture. The Duke of York’s participation in these private segments of the event is reportedly viewed as a mutual compromise between him and the royal establishment.
