Meghan Markle PR Strategy Unravels After Major As Ever Misstep
Meghan Markle’s carefully orchestrated bid to reassert her influence in 2026 appears to have encountered an early setback, following an unexpected issue tied to her lifestyle brand, As Ever. What was intended to signal renewed momentum has instead raised questions about the brand’s operational strategy.
The Duchess of Sussex, who launched As Ever in March last year, previously drew criticism from public relations professionals for employing what they described as a dated tactic designed to manufacture public demand. Each product release reportedly sold out within minutes, a pattern that initially suggested strong consumer interest but ultimately frustrated many potential buyers.
Rather than being seen as a minor logistical issue, the repeated sell-outs began to damage the brand’s reputation. Commentators argued that limited inventory was being used deliberately to create an illusion of popularity. Several industry experts echoed this view, reinforcing claims that the scarcity may have been intentional.
On multiple occasions, Meghan reassured customers that additional stock had been ordered to meet demand, yet products continued to disappear almost immediately. Recently, however, fans uncovered evidence suggesting the opposite—that inventory levels may now be excessively high.
The discovery was first shared on Reddit by a user on the Saint Meghan Markle subreddit, known as Kiki_love777. According to the findings, the brand’s website reportedly shows stock levels of 80,386 tubs of flower sprinkles, 137,455 signature fruit spread gift boxes, and 62,523 signature candles. The information quickly circulated across social media platforms, particularly on X, formerly Twitter.
“I wonder if the early sell-outs made her overconfident,” one user remarked.
Another commented, “At least those products don’t have an expiration date.”
While exact production costs remain undisclosed, one user on X estimated that, based on retail pricing alone, Meghan could be holding approximately $23 million worth of inventory.
As of now, the Duchess of Sussex has not publicly responded to the claims or the online speculation surrounding the discovery.
Prince Harry’s Security Success Could Open Door for Archie and Lilibet to Visit King—If Meghan Consents
Prince Harry’s reported success in his prolonged legal challenge over UK government–funded security may have resolved a key logistical obstacle, but it has also introduced a sensitive personal dilemma for the Duchess of Sussex.
The case, which arose after Harry and Meghan stepped back from their senior royal duties in 2020 and subsequently lost official police protection, has now delivered what the duke views as a significant turning point.
According to reports, a recent reassessment by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) concluded in Harry’s favour, potentially allowing him access to taxpayer-funded security while in the United Kingdom.
While the ruling could technically facilitate future visits, it does not automatically make them imminent, particularly without careful consideration behind the scenes.
When questioned by GB News, a spokesperson for the Sussexes declined to address the matter, stating, “We can’t comment on security matters.”
A government representative echoed that position, noting that the UK’s protective security framework is “robust and proportionate.”
The spokesperson further stressed that long-standing policy prevents disclosure of specific security arrangements to avoid compromising safety or operational effectiveness.
For Meghan, however, returning to the UK involves more than practical considerations.
Royal commentator Christopher Andersen has suggested that the duchess may feel uneasy about revisiting Britain, given the sustained media attention and criticism she has endured there since her relationship with Harry entered the public eye.
Observers believe that any future trip would be centered on family connections rather than official responsibilities.
Harry and King Charles reportedly made progress toward reconciliation during a private meeting in September 2025, marking a notable development after years of strained relations.
Sources close to the royal family indicate that the King is particularly fond of his grandchildren and would warmly welcome time with Archie and Lilibet.
Nonetheless, the reported security decision does not signal a return to royal status or institutional duties.
Both Harry and Meghan have consistently maintained that they have no intention of resuming any formal or semi-official roles within the monarchy.
Instead, attention has shifted to whether enhanced security provisions could enable limited family visits and allow the children to form a closer relationship with their grandfather.
Prince Harry’s Possible UK Return Draws Reaction from Royal Experts
Royal commentators have weighed in following reports that Prince Harry may soon return to the UK, as a long-running decision over his police protection appears to be nearing resolution.
The Duke of Sussex is reportedly close to regaining publicly funded police security during visits to Britain, pending a final ruling. The development has prompted discussion among royal experts, who say the move could significantly affect Harry’s ability to travel back to the country.
UK-based broadcaster and royal commentator Afua Hagan welcomed the reports, suggesting that a reversal by the Home Office would be a positive outcome for the Duke.
“If the reports are accurate and things unfold as suggested, this would be a very good result for Harry,” Hagan told Newsweek.
She explained that, with King Charles continuing to reduce aspects of his cancer treatment, the decision could offer Harry peace of mind should an urgent family situation arise. “If there were ever a moment when Harry needed to return to Britain at short notice, he would now know he could do so with appropriate security in place,” she said.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lost their full-time police protection after stepping down as senior working royals and relocating to the United States. Since then, Harry has pursued legal action in an effort to reinstate the security arrangements he previously received.
Following their departure, the UK Home Office introduced a revised system under which Harry’s protection would be assessed individually for each visit rather than automatically provided.
In December, the Home Office reportedly initiated a fresh security threat review. According to The Mail on Sunday, that assessment has now concluded, although an official decision has yet to be announced.
The newspaper claims that the outcome is expected to favor Harry, with the reinstatement of his police security team while in the UK.
Hagan also pointed to a previous incident to support Harry’s argument. “When Harry was last in Britain and a stalker managed to get alarmingly close to him, it reinforced his concerns,” she said.
She added that increased security could make future visits more feasible for the Sussex family. “It’s clearly something Harry wants, something Meghan wants as well. Whether we’ll see Meghan return remains uncertain, but this certainly makes it safer and more realistic.”
Hagan noted that the development could also allow the couple’s children to spend time in the UK with their extended family.
Meanwhile, royal journalist Rebecca English offered a more cautious perspective. Writing in a recent article, she stated: “As reported today, Harry’s return appears more likely, as his team believes they have secured the right to police protection while in the UK.”
However, she added that claims suggesting an imminent reconciliation between Harry and King Charles may be overstated. “I’m told that attempts by the Sussexes’ PR operation to imply a father-and-son rapprochement are, at present, somewhat exaggerated.”
