'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' is by far the most criticized and least valued film in the saga. Many fans were disappointed with the last adventure (to date) of Dr. Jones. But what if instead of a mediocre movie, it was actually a moving masterpiece?

In the eyes of the public, Disney's decision to revive the myth of 'Indiana Jones in 2008 was not by far the most successful of the study. 'The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' was presented as a film that neither retained the charisma of the originals, much less the freshness of the plots. But Spielberg's film may hide much more than meets the eye. Or so at least one of his fans thinks.

What would you say if we said that what is listed as the worst 'Indiana Jones' movie was actually a convoluted and moving masterpiece? This theory is based on that, which tries to rehabilitate the fourth installment of the saga. And it all begins with one of the most indecent moments in the film, the one in which the archaeologist survives a nuclear explosion by hiding inside a refrigerator.

As usual, viewers complained that no human could have survived such an explosion. But Indy did... at least for a while. Unfortunately, he gets a huge amount of radiation, and from there he spends the rest of the movie hallucinating as he waits for his horrible death. What we see is nothing more than a fantasy of a dying man, offering him one last adventure in which he, incidentally, solves some of the problems of his rocky past.

The intrepid archaeologist played by Harrison Ford has already faced spiritual threats on more than one occasion (demonstrating along the way the existence of at least two religions), so in his fantasy he decides to go further, introducing aliens inside the mythology of the Indiana Jones universe. And meanwhile, in his daydream, he is reunited with his undying love Marion, discovering that he has a son who can carry on his legacy.

To make matters worse, the film ends, after confronting the alien race hidden on our planet for centuries, with the wedding between Indy and Marion, the time he is announced that he has been chosen as the new associate dean of the university. A perfect round ending that is too idyllic to be true. And it is because in reality it is nothing more than the last hope of a dying man seeking his own redemption. What surprises will 'Indiana Jones 5' hold for us? Only Spielberg knows.
