Michael Jackson at his worst

Michael Jackson's situation is getting worse by the minute. While the singer's friends, who faces more than twenty years in prison and ten charges against him - supply of alcohol, and kidnapping conspiracy, among others - fear that he could make an attempt on his own life, the trial it has become a media circus followed by millions of people every day.

Last Thursday the artist saw himself face to face for the first time in the Santa Maria court with the 15-year-old minor who accuses him. Michael Jackson arrived sixty-five minutes late in pajamas and slippers and looking haggard.

He had apparently spent much of the night in a hospital suffering from severe back pain, although Judge Rodney Melville, seeing that he did not show up on time, had issued a warrant for his arrest under threat of revoking bail. of three million dollars that was imposed on him last September. In the end, it all came to that, and the order was cancelled.

The process was interrupted twenty minutes after Jackson's defense attorney, Thomas Meserenau, began his questioning of the minor, whom he accused of making up the story after meeting with a lawyer.

But first, the prosecutor Tom Sneddon was able to do his questioning and during it the most lurid details of the story soon came out. "He touched me twice, although they feel like they were more," said the minor, who acknowledged that he and his family returned to Neverland several times after meeting with his lawyers.

He also said that during his stays at the ranch, Jackson had given him wine in a can of diet Coke and had called the drink "Jesus juice", although the list also included vodka, rum and whiskey.

The only main witness for the prosecution who has not yet testified is the child's mother, whom the defense paints as a greedy woman who instructed her children to lie in order to obtain money through lawsuits. Today, on the other hand, Thomas Meserenau will finish questioning the minor, whose alleged abuses took place in early 2003 when he was then thirteen years old and sick with cancer.

The rumors and speculations about the unfortunate appearance with which Michael Jackson appeared a few days ago in court, have not been long in coming. Although, as we said, his lawyer explained that he had had to go to the hospital for severe back pain, circles close to the singer affirm that he suffers from "serious mental problems" that have been accentuated by the state of bankruptcy in which he is in.

The day after his appearance, prosecutors in the case portrayed him as "a compulsive shopper" on the brink of ruin in an attempt to access the king of pop's accounting records. According to claims, Michael Jackson must pay about 400 million dollars in debts and taxes before December of this year. The Fox network recently reported that the artist held a meeting in Neverland last week with his advisers to study his accounts after not having been able to pay the salaries of the 120 people he has at his service.
