Returning to Italian television tonight is Everly, the 2015 action thriller starring Salma Hayek as an anti-heroine involved in a personal war with a crime boss. For the occasion, we have compiled for you all the curiosities that emerged behind the scenes.
The film follows the story of Everly, a former prostitute who has recently become an FBI informant and finds herself barricaded in her own apartment. Locked within the walls of her home, she must bravely face one after another the assassins sent to kill her by her ex-husband, a ruthless leader of the Japanese mafia.

The film's script came from the 2010 Black List, the list of the best screenplays not yet produced. However, in addition to a poor reception by critics, it was a huge box office flop.
In making the film, director Joe Lynch drew inspiration from movies like The Raid, Taken, Desperado, and especially Die Hard, failing, however, to replicate the success of the aforementioned titles.
Having to set up a single location, Everly's apartment, the entire film was shot in chronological order.
The role of the protagonist was originally entrusted to Kate Hudson, but the actress left the project after a break in production.
In an episode of his podcast, Lynch said that the shooting of the film took place in Serbia. "Because I wanted to shoot abroad for a few months, as they say great directors do." Obviously this is a joke: the real reason is that filming in Serbia was much less expensive.
