Emma Stone reveals that she has been in therapy for anxiety since she was 7 years old

Emma Stone revealed that she has been in therapy since she was seven years old to try to combat her anxiety problems.

Anxiety is a disease that affects a large part of the population, and unfortunately, it is rarely taken into account. Emma Stone knows this, and that is why she has decided to reveal on 'TheLate Show' that she has been attending therapy since she was 7 years old to control her problem. The actress brought a drawing she made at just 9 years old in therapy, before opening up about her great battle with the disease.

The drawing shows a young, smug-faced Emma Stone next to a little green monster representing anxiety, and a phrase that reads "I'm bigger than my anxiety" crowning the painting. "This is me, I guess, and this is anxiety. A little green monster that looks a bit like a uterus with several ovaries, as someone once said backstage," the up-and-coming actress explained.

"The fact that it is a uterus has nothing to do with a hormonal problem. As I have already said, I was only 9 years old. I was a very, very, very, very anxious child. And I had continuous panic attacks. The therapy has benefited me greatly. I started it when I was 7 years old," Stone confessed during the program in a pained but proud way.

The actress also added that both acting and large improv sessions have helped her a lot in the process of overcoming the disease. "To this day I still have anxiety, but I'm over the panic attacks," she said. Of course, this has not prevented her from having an increasingly prolific career, becoming the highest-paid actress in 2016 and 2017.
