The actress detailed her experiences with the producer in an interview
In conversation with Oprah Winfrey, in the podcast of the American personality, Salma Hayek detailed the experiences that she lived with Harvey Weinstein during the recordings of Frida.
Hayek recounted that Weinstein would go to see her in her hotel room, in different locations, while filming movies in which he was not even involved. In addition, she said that the producer forced her to do an S- scene with another woman for Frida.
In the interview with Oprah, the actress said that Weinstein threatened to kill her. "He told Julie Taymor — the film's director — 'I'm going to break his knees.'"
Salma also reported that she felt cowardly for not immediately talking about her experiences with the producer. "The New York Times contacted me to be part of the first story and just because of this contact there was so much confusion that I started crying when they asked me and ended up not doing it," she said.
"Then I felt ashamed of being a coward. I had supported women for two decades and then she was a coward," the actress said.
Weinstein responded by saying that he "doesn't remember putting pressure on Salma."
