Celebrity revealed the diagnosis in August 2021
Actress Christina Applegate, 51, opened up about what it's like to live with the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis daily, which she revealed to the world in August 2021.
In an interview with the magazine, Christina said that "it's never a good day" and that now a series of things that before would have seemed simple routine has become difficult.
"You just have bad days. Getting in the shower is scary. You can fall, you can slip, your legs can bend. Especially because I have a glass shower. It's scary for me to get in there," explained the celebrity. "There are certain things that people - including myself - take for granted in their lives."
Christina also listed other routine activities that scare her because of the disease. "Downstairs, carry things, you can't do that kind of thing anymore. It sucks," said the actress, before explaining that she can still drive the car short distances and climb stairs.
"I have a friend who lives with me during the week and she helps me look after Sadie (her 12-year-old daughter). And then on the weekends, I have a caregiver," explained Christina. "I don't want too much nervous system stimulation because that might be a little too much for me. I like to keep it as quiet as possible."
Applegate began her career as a teenager, as one of the protagonists of the series 'A Family Love', shown between 1987 and 1997. She later starred in the series 'Jesse' and 'Samantha Who?' in addition to several Hollywood romantic comedies.
Over the last few years, she has been acting in the series 'Dial Amiga para Matar'. Among her most recent films are two 'The Anchor' and 'Perfect is the Mother'Mother' (2016). Martyn LeNoble, married since 2013, Applegate has a 12-year-old daughter with her husband.
