The actress said that she and her husband, Nick Jonas, had to order pizza when they returned to the hotel after the luxurious event in New York
The 40-year-old actress, who went with her husband, Nick Jonas, to the gala organized in New York on Monday (1st), registered her frustration in an interview with the magazine. Asked about her impressions of the event, the famous said: "The Met Gala is always so much work, honestly. Just because of that moment on the red carpet. But it's a lot of fun for me; there are people in the entertainment industry, people who you haven't seen for a long time. You can catch up with everyone."
Chopra then admitted: "But I... I complained. There was no bread for dinner. I got so hungry afterward."
"Maybe I had unrealistic expectations," she continued. "But I don't know. One loaf of bread would have been enough. But my husband ordered pizza when we got to the hotel, so we were fine."
"There goes my invitation for next year," added the actress, good-naturedly.
According to the magazine, this year's Met Gala menu included "chilled pea soup with baby vegetables, lemon crème fraîche, and truffle snow followed by Ōra King salmon with vegetable nage, asparagus, preserved strawberries, and radish – everything served on vintage china'.
Chopra isn't the only celebrity to have complained about the Met Gala. In 2013, Gwyneth Paltrow told Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O that the event "sucked" and "not fun" (although she returned for the 2017 and 2019 editions). In addition, Demi Lovato told Billboard that the 2016 prom was "a terrible experience", and that she found a celebrity there who was "a complete asshole". "I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted a drink. I changed my clothes, but I still had the diamonds on... I identified with the people at the Met Gala."
"Complaining good-naturedly is a part of the celebrity game. "
