The actors of "The Big Bang Theory" pocket a million dollars per episode each
According to the Magazine, the five original cast members of the CBS series "The Big Bang Theory" (Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar, and Simon Helberg) each earn $1 million per episode. Without a doubt, they are the highest-paid actors of the moment. However, her co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch earn five times less: $200,000.
But, how much do the protagonists of the other series earn? It's hard to say for sure. All are estimated figures that also obviously vary greatly from one series to another and from the background of the interpreter. But yes, despite the exception of "The Big Bang Theory", in general comedy is less paid.
Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel would have received $750,000 per chapter for the return of "Gilmore Girls" on Netflix. Although in this case it must be taken into account that the series only had 4 episodes and therefore salaries could have been negotiated upwards. A series of 4 episodes per season is not the same as one of 10 such as "Game of Thrones".
In this range we find Kevin Spacey for his role as Frank Underwood in "House of Cards" and five of the protagonists of "Game of Thrones": Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Knowing these figures it is not surprising that each episode has a budget of 10 million dollars.
Among others: Drew Barrymore for "Santa Clarita Diet" (350,000), Reese Witherspoon for "Big Little Lies" (350,000), Emma Stone for "Maniac" (350,000), the main voice actors of "The Simpsons" (315,000), Naomi Watts for "Gypsy" (275,000), Julia Louis-Dreyfus for "Veep" (250,000) and five of the main actors of "Modern Family" including Sofia Vergara (250,000).
Among the "cheapest" are Wentworth Miller for "Prison Break" (175,000), Terrence Howard for "Empire" (175,000), Zooey Deschanel star of "New Girl" (130,000), Michael Sheen for "Masters of S-" ( 100,000) or Gina Rodríguez starring in "Jane the Virgin" ($60,000 per episode).
