The tragedy life of actress Paola Cocciaglia

Talking about the youth series that marked an era in Argentine television refers us to Pelito (1983 to 1986), Treble Clef (1988 to 1991), and Roller Coaster (1994 to 1995). All broadcasts by The Thirteen had a plot in common: they narrated the problems, loves, and conflicts of a group of friends who shared the school or a club. And from the different casts would emerge great figures such as Adrián Suar, Leo Sbaraglia, Guido Kaczka, Julián Weich, Florencia Pena, Federico D'Elía, Gustavo Bermúdez, Nancy Dupláa, Gastón Pauls and Diego Ramos, among others.

But there was an actress who participated in the three novels: Paola Cocciaglia. Born on January 20, 1972, in Buenos Aires, she made her debut in Pelito when she was barely 10 years old after her parents took her to study dramatic art when they saw how she performed in school acts and in the characters she improvised. at family gatherings. There she had a minor role. But it would mean her first step.

When she joined the second season of Clave de Sol at the age of 18, by then her name already had another weight. For example, she was there for a few chapters: she was immediately summoned for Celeste, the successful novel starring Andrea del Boca and Gustavo Bermúdez. Then came Roller Coaster: a single period on the screen was enough. At 22 years old, Paola understood that she had to look for another place to work. What she was so passionate about as a girl had tired her, and her fame was not something about her that she enjoyed so much about her.

Without the long hours that the recordings of the strips demanded, she turned completely to her university studies to receive a degree in Foreign Trade. With her title in her possession, she began to venture into the world of politics: her first job was holding a position in the Government of the City of Buenos Aires. Far from the media, and adopting a very low profile, she began to function in the political arena.

In 1999 she made a big leap: she was deputy undersecretary during the presidency of Fernando de la Rúa. A year later she was appointed to a position in the Secretariat for the Promotion and Integration of Regional Economies of the Chief of Staff. The fall of the Government, amid the social outbreak due to the 2001 crisis, also decreed the end of her functions. From then on, Cocciaglia would move away from politics. Little would be known about her. In her political chronicles, her last name would stop being written.

Far from the television lights that had not illuminated her for a long time and from the corridors of the Casa Rosada that she no longer traveled, in the summer of 2005 Paola went with her family on vacation to Cariló. On January 11, returning from Miramar -where he had gone to participate in a birthday party with his young children, a two-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl, and a babysitter-, fatality crossed his path at kilometer 404 of Route 11, around 1:30 in the morning.

It was in that section that Cocciaglia lost control of the vehicle. In an attempt to return to the asphalt strip, her Land Rover 4x4 ended up tumbling several times until it ended up overturning. According to what police sources reported at the time, the babysitter was thrown out of the truck through one of the windows in one of the many bumps; she died instantly. Paola's son was also fired and eventually rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries and multiple fractures. Her daughter, on the other hand, was wearing a seat belt and saved her life.

The actress was trapped in the van. Still dazed from the blows to the windshield and steering wheel, she managed to get out of it. Trying to find help, she made her way back to the road, groping about 15 meters. The darkness prevented a journalist from spotting that she was aboard a Renault Clio, which failed to stop in time and ended up running over her.

Paola Cocciaglia died in the ambulance when she was taken to the Pinamar Hospital. She was just 32 years old. Hours later, her son would be transferred to Buenos Aires where, after several months of recovery, he would be discharged. Today the boys are 19 and 20 years old, but nothing is known about them.
