Ed Gale, known for his role as Chucky in the horror movie franchise, has been exposed by a citizen group that poses as minors to catch online predators.
The group called the Creep Catching Unit (CC Unit), confronted Gale on camera, leading him to confess to the allegations.
During the encounter, the CC Unit founder, known as "Ghost," asked Gale tough questions about his intentions. Gale admitted that he knew his actions were wrong and illegal, expressing remorse for his behavior. The CC Unit had gathered chat logs and evidence, which they subsequently turned over to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Although two officers were present during the sting operation, no arrests have been announced thus far. Gale's confession, however, was caught on camera, where he acknowledged engaging in S- explicit conversations with a minor.
The CC Unit exposed Gale by posing as a non-existent teenager who had agreed to meet him for S-l acts. They confronted him with cameras and printed logs of their conversations. Ghost questioned Gale about his attempts to solicit child P- from the decoy, to which Gale admitted his wrongdoing.
During the confrontation, Gale also admitted on-camera that he may have engaged in S- explicit conversations with up to ten children online. The CC Unit handed over all their collected chat logs and evidence to the Los Angeles Police Department, who seized two of Gale's phones. Nonetheless, no arrests have been made at this time.
The CC Unit, although criticized by some for its methods, aims to catch online predators by posing as minors on social media. Their primary goal is to expose such individuals, and they state that they do not work directly with law enforcement. Ghost emphasized that their role is that of a deterrent, and they only share chat logs and evidence with law enforcement when necessary.
While the Creep Catching Unit has faced criticism for its tactics, with concerns raised about vigilantism and potential risks to individuals' lives, others argue that they are providing a service by exposing predators who pose a threat to children. According to Ghost, the CC Unit's work has resulted in several arrests and convictions.
