Cristian de la Fuente confessed to his fans that medical negligence prevented him and his wife, Angélica Castro, from having more children.
Like many celebrities in this contingency, Cristian de la Fuente keeps in touch with his fans through social networks where, a few days ago, he held a chat through Instagram Live in which he opened his heart and revealed, for the first time, why he and his wife, Angélica Castro, made the decision to have only one daughter.
In addition to other questions, the Chilean actor answered why, after becoming parents to Laura, who is now 15 years old, they did not write to the stork again. To the surprise of his followers, this was a choice that he had to do with not putting his wife at risk, who suffered medical complications during the birth of her daughter Laura. Delighted with his role as a dad, Cristian admitted that everything has a reason for being and that, although he cannot have more children, Laura is all he needs to be happy: “Life gives you and takes away from you, it didn't give us many children, but he gave us a daughter who is worth 10, so it is as if he had 10 children,” he said.
The actor revealed that the situation his wife went through during childbirth was so dangerous that she was on the brink of death: “Many people tell us: 'Hey, why don't you have another child?', the reason why we didn't have another child was because, when Angélica gave birth to Laura, she was on the verge of dying due to a medical problem and after that, in the case of having another pregnancy, there could be a risk and I did not want to take the risk, I did not want to have another child and run the risk of being left with two children, but without my wife, or losing a child; So, we made the decision not to have another child,” he explained.
Although biologically he will not be able to have more children, the actor does not rule out the possibility of, in the future, adopting or waiting for Laura to make him a grandfather, a facet that fills him with excitement: “Later when Laura grows up and perhaps already undertakes her flight alone, it is a possibility to adopt, as it is also a possibility that we are closer to Laura getting married and having children and spoiling the grandchildren,” he commented with amusement. Last June, during the celebration of Father's Day, which this year was spent in confinement, the actor dedicated a nice message to his daughter: “The best gift is to be your father and celebrate this day with you. I love you infinitely, never change… it is a privilege to be your dad,” he wrote next to a photo with the young woman.
