The 'Hunger Games' actress spoke with Viola Davis about the stress that motherhood generates. For this reason, both exchanged some traumatic experiences that they experienced when becoming mothers.
Jennifer Lawrence recently participated in 'Actors on Actors', Variety's talk show, along with Viola Davis. The brand new actresses talked about their latest jobs, how they handle household responsibilities, along with motherhood, and their stressful jobs. The protagonist of 'The Hunger Games' revealed that she feels very guilty about her role as her mother.
In the first half of the year, Jennifer had her first child with her partner, Cooke Maroney. The baby's name is Cy and is inspired by Cy Twombly, one of her husband's favorite artists. Of course, since the little one was born, the actress's life took a 180-degree turn.
In her last interview, Lawrence told Davis that she felt horrible and very guilty. The 32-year-old actress expressed between laughter and concern: "I'm playing with my son and I'm thinking, 'Is this what he wants to do? Should we be outside? We're outside. What if he's cold? What if he gets cold?' sick? Is this enough? Is this enough to develop your brain?'"
On her side, Viola Davis, who has a 12-year-old daughter, Genesis Tennon, to reassure the actress, commented on a traumatic experience she experienced when her daughter was a baby. It turns out that one day, the actress went to the supermarket and since she had so many things on her mind, she got out of the car and the key remained inside her, along with Genesis who was sitting in her chair. Fortunately, 911 helped the woman and got the girl out of the car, but in the meantime, Viola went through a lot of stress, nerves, and screaming, and even gave some insults to the emergency service personnel.
Likewise, Jennifer Lawrence recalled that she once drove with her son without having fastened her seat belt. "She just wobbled, she just flew. Okay, great! It's good to know that we almost killed our children," she revealed, jokingly. For this reason, Viola told him that at first, it is totally normal to feel afraid, but as time goes by, things fall into place. On the other hand, she advised her and told her not to seek perfection in her motherhood.
