However, plans took an unexpected turn, and Tom Cruise not only attended the event but also graced the stage with a performance of the hit song. Initially, Oscars producer Glen Weiss had stated that Lady Gaga was invited to perform but had declined due to her ongoing commitment to a new film project, feeling that she couldn't deliver her customary stellar performance at the awards show.
The film in question is "Joker: Folie à Deux," a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster "Joker," which commenced production in late 2022. Earlier this year, Jay Ellis shared his thoughts on the film's immense box office success and the privilege of collaborating with Hollywood icons.
"It's surreal," Ellis exclaimed at the premiere of his latest film. "We simply wished for people to see it. We longed to collaborate with Tom Cruise, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Joe Kosinski. It's an absolute dream come true," he added, expressing his enthusiasm for the project.
