Tom Cruise was a friend of Queen Elizabeth and how he felt about her death

Few people can boast of having had a friendship with Queen Elizabeth II. As part of royalty that is difficult for many to come into contact with, imagine forming a close bond. However, that is the case of Tom Cruise, one of the greatest faces of the Hollywood world in its history.

Tom Cruise has even been invited to the wedding of Prince William and Prince Harry, he was even a guest of the queen herself when she invited him to have tea with her. Many were surprised that the actor was one of the last to see the monarch alive, and all this has an explanation.

It turns out that months before she died, the queen (she died on September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, aged 96) received the actor at Balmoral Castle for the classic tea ceremony. Lately, the relationship had materialized as said friendship.

It had originally been said that Elizabeth II and Tom would meet last May at an equestrian event on the grounds of Windsor Castle called 'A Gallop Through History'. However, it would not be until the recent meeting that everything was going to come to fruition.

Although Queen Elizabeth had stated that she had not been able to meet the artist during the Platinum Jubilee, it was then that she ended up inviting him to a special tour of Balmoral Castle, with everything prepared specifically for such a meeting. The meeting they had back then was a real success.

One fact that stands out among the several that have emerged is that Tom was even allowed to land with his private helicopter on the lawn of the gardens of the queen's castle, according to The Times.

A source close to the Sunday Times stated that both Queen Elizabeth and Tom “connected very well”, to the point that they had plans to repeat the meeting. “She loved seeing him, so she invited him back for lunch,” she reveals. Unfortunately, this intention to have lunch together was not fulfilled because the monarch died earlier.

Cruise publicly expressed his admiration for the queen on several occasions. “She is a woman that I admire a lot. I think she is someone who has tremendous dignity and I admire her devotion. What she has achieved has been historic. I just remember that when I was a child I always saw photos of her,” he commented.
