Born in April 1940 as Gerald Tommaso DeLouise, Burt Young's life journey encompassed a wide array of experiences. At the age of 15, he served his country as a Marine and subsequently became a part of the US Army from 1957 to 1959. During his military service, he showcased his boxing prowess and had the privilege of training under the legendary Cus D'Amato. Young's boxing career marked an impressive start, with 32 wins out of 34 matches during his amateur days. When he turned professional, he maintained an impeccable record, securing victory in all 17 of his professional fights.

His filmography boasts an impressive list of over 160 film and television credits. On television, he made notable appearances in popular shows like "MASH," "Little House on the Prairie," "Serpico," "Baretta," among many others.
