Love has its own paths, and in the case of actor Josh Duhamel, it seems like the stars have finally aligned in his favor.
After a failed marriage to singer Fergie, Josh Duhamel recently married Audra Mari, who was his girlfriend of 3 years. And, apparently, the marriage issue was brewing for a long time before he proposed, since he knew Mari was “the one” from the beginning of their relationship.
Josh and Audra were introduced by a mutual friend
The former beauty pageant contestant and the star of Under the Same Roof met in March 2019 and began dating in May of the same year. The couple's connection was obvious from the start, and they were seen kissing in airports and attending high-profile events hand in hand. Their chemistry was electric and it seems like they've been inseparable ever since.
Duhamel's proposal to Audra Josh surprised her then-girlfriend, Audra Mari, during their beach vacation, and he admitted it was a spontaneous decision. “I just decided at the last minute that's how I wanted to do it,” he said. “I didn't have anything planned. I still didn't have a ring. I thought, 'Today is the day.' And that's how it all happened."
Despite the lack of preparation, Duhamel made sure it was a memorable occasion for Mari and spoke to the concierge at the resort they were staying at to arrange a surprise. During a walk on the beach, a bottle with a note floated to the shore. Inside was a heartfelt message from Duhamel that read: “Audra Diane Mari, will you marry me?” Overwhelmed with emotion, Mari said yes, and the couple shared photos on social media with the caption “Done!!”
Josh opened up about his fiancée during an interview, revealing that he knew she was the one for him from the beginning. With a smile on her face, he admitted that Mari was an amazing girl. “We are perfect for each other. She is an amazing girl. She keeps me grounded. She makes everything real,” Duhamel added. "She is perfect for me".
He further explained that they are both from North Dakota, something they share in common. “She's great,” he said, noting that Mari's personality and character have won his heart.
Josh, 49, and Audra, 28, exchanged wedding vows on September 10 in their home state of North Dakota (and they're not the only celebrities who consider age to be just a number. The day was incredible, according to the actor's Instagram post, but it wasn't without its setbacks. In an interview, Duhamel revealed that he ended up in the emergency room after injuring his back “doing some wild moves on the party bus” the night before the wedding.
He explained that he had tried to do some gymnastics moves while he was standing inside the bus and hurt his back. Despite this setback, he was able to walk down the aisle and joked that it was his favorite part of his wedding. “I know I'm a little older than her,” he joked, then added, “It wouldn't have looked good if she couldn't walk down the aisle.”
Despite their 21-year age difference, Josh Duhamel and Audra Mari's love story is a beautiful reminder that age is just a number. The couple has found happiness and is not afraid to show it, and as they continue to build a life together, it is clear that their love knows no limits.
